Josey Gist is a professional editor and former literary agent’s assistant, who has also worked with Harper Collins and Pearson Education. She loves fiction and non-fiction, particularly YA and MG stories with strong, flawed, resourceful characters, and witty dialogue.  Her favorite authors are Maggie Stiefvater, Diana Wynne Jones, and Terry Pratchett.

Her publications include ‘Stephanie Lisa Tara’s Turtle Book,’ a non-fiction book about sea turtles, which won the ‘Mom’s Choice’ Gold Award in 2013. Josey’s writing has appeared in published books and in British Archaeology magazine.

She studied for her Master’s degree in Archaeology for Screen Media at Bristol University, where she learned how to make archaeology fun for smartphone users and kids. Her bachelor’s degree was in Archaeology and Ancient History, from Cardiff University, where she learned that excellence is not an act, but a habit. Josey lives in El Cerrito, California.
